Seasonal Organic Asparagus Bunch
Organic asparagus is a highly versatile vegetable, with a slight earthiness with a balance of bitter and sweet taste often compared to green beans or broccoli.
Enjoy the spears steamed or sautéed in a frittata and pasta dishes. Try it grilled or even left raw and grated through salads. They are great as a stand-alone side dish.
It's high in folate, iron, copper, calcium, protein and a good source of potassium, fiber, thiamin, and vitamins A, C, E, B6, and K.
Stalks should be firm but tender. Tips should be closed tightly with a nice dark green or purple tinge. Stand the spears upright in a glass of water, cover with a damp tea towel or wrap in damp tea towel and store in the crisper.
