Presence...

Dont kids just have this beautiful gift of being present in the moment. All we have to do is watch and learn from them. We had the beautiful opportunity to go blueberry picking in a local organic farm this weekend and it was magic. These opportunities to connect as a family are precious and to have the blessing of making it an aligned skill building and learning experience along with a human experience is a total win. And then... these little nuggets of life school for us big people are thrown in!

So while Tim and I were planning what we were going to do with all of these beautiful blueberries... pie, jam and the list went on... the kids had other plans....

Not one single blueberry made it home! They were eaten right there and then. And just when we thought they were done they asked to fill another punnet! Gone were the plans of baking and conserving and instead complete presentness and the fact was the best these blueberries were ever going to taste was right now right in that very moment...

I find that when Tim and I stop from the "busy" the kids are our biggest teachers.

They teach us more about ourselves than any course, retreat, book or otherwise could. They are the biggest mirror and also the biggest drive and motivator to be better. And the beauty of it is they dont even have to be your own kids. My nieces and nephews were my first real loves and my first teachers.... 

And I love my best friends kids just as much as my first loves just as I am sure teachers love their students and neighbours can love their neighbours kids...

The opportunities are all around us to learn from these little humans we just have to be "present" to receive their blessings.

My wish for you all this week is that you are able to be still enough to receive the bountiful blessings of being as present as a child in a blueberry farm. That you enjoy that moment so much that all plans for the future are forgotten. For in these moments is when true magic happens....
